Conference Location

The 2015 Dg.o conference will be held at the ASU Downtown Campus. Registration and sessions will be held at:

Univeristy Center - 411 N Central Ave, Phoenix AZ. 85004 

Lodging

The Downtown Phoenix area offers eight major hotels, all renovated within the last five years and all within walking distance of the ASU Downtown Phoenix campus. The area also offers a vibrant mix of entertainment and dining options.

  • Sheraton Phoenix Downtown – two blocks east of the campus, the Sheraton offers 1,000 rooms and 47 suites including a fitness center and sundeck with lap pool.
  • Westin Phoenix Downtown – one block south of campus, the Westin offers 242 rooms, workout room and outdoor sundeck with pool.
  • Hyatt Regency Phoenix – located three blocks from campus, the Hyatt offers 693 rooms, stay fit gym and outdoor pool.
  • Holiday Inn Express – located three blocks east of campus this facility offers 90 rooms, including 29 suites.
  • Renaissance Phoenix Downtown – located three blocks south of campus, this hotel offers 428 guest rooms, fitness center and heated outdoor pool.
  • Hotel Palomar - located five blocks south of campus, this boutique hotel offers rooftop pool, live entertainment, bikes to borrow, and more.
  • Hotel San Carlos - located three blocks south of campus, this historic hotel has been in continuous operation since 1928.
  • Springhill Suites Phoenix Downtown - located six blocks from campus, this hotel offers complimentary airport shuttle, free wi-fi, fitness center, and pool.

Affordable and accessible via Valley Metro Light Rail:

 

On campus:

  • Taylor Place, (on-campus dorm accommodation)- This option includes a private bedroom and shared bathroom (Tower 2) with one other conference attendee. The rate is $22 per night plus (3-night minimum) plus a one-time $20 cleaning and linen pack fee (includes bed linens for XL twin bed and a towel set).  Accommodations include wi-fi, gym, and a shared kitchen on ground floor. Transportation Systems

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport serves the metropolitan area with over 17 airlines, 1,500 flights and 100,000 passengers moving through the terminals daily. This includes international flights and service. Transportation from the airport to the conference site and hotels is easy and convient. Taxis from the airport to the downtown range between $15-$35. The airport is also conveniently accessible to the ASU downtown campus and conference faciltiies via the Metro Light Rail. The airport is 6 miles from the Conference Location.
 
Metro Light Rail – The Valley Metro Light Rail Service runs immediately through the ASU Downtown Campus and is within blocks of the major hotel facilities. The Light Rail is accessible to the airport via the Sky Harbor Sky Train. The Light Rail trip to from the airport to downtown Phoenix will take 30-45 minutes.
 
Ground Transportation – Phoenix transportation choices include Taxi, Limousines, Shared Ride Vans, Courtesy vehicles and rental cars. Alternative taxi services such as Uber and Lyft are available throughout the Phoenix area and at the airport. Clean Air Cab 480-777-9777. Discount Cab 602-200-2000. A taxi ride from the airport to the ASU Downtown Campus will take 15-20 minutes. 
 
Grid Bike Share – Phoenix is served Grid Bike Share providing access to 500 bikes at 50 locations 24/7. All conference activities and events are within short biking distance. Grid Bike stations are located at ASU, the Heard Museum, and the AZ Science Center. Most hotels are within a 1-3 mile ride to ASU downtown campus.
 
Phoenix is served by Interstates 10 and 17, and is easily accessible by major highways from surrounding states and Mexico. Parking is available near the ASU downtown campus with cost ranging from $6 to $20 per day, depending upon surface lot or structured parking.
